From Our President - Building Our Youth Program

Manitoba Darts Association Inc. is looking for youth under the age of 18 to qualify to represent Team Manitoba.

The Youth Team Manitoba is made up of:

  • 2 junior girls and 2 junior boys – 15 years of age or under

  • 2 senior girls and 2 Senior boys – 18 years of age or under (15-18)

On October 1st of the current season (2022/23 as at October 1, 2022)

  • Along with male and female chaperones and Youth Director.

All games are 501 straight in and double out (SIDO).

The four categories are

  1. junior female

  2. junior male, (junior under 15 years of age)

  3. senior female and

  4. senior male (senior 15 to 18 years of age).

The events played in both junior and senior categories are

  1. mixed doubles,

  2. male/female doubles, and

  3. male/female singles.

Youth from around the Province compete in a Manitoba Provincial Championship in April or March to try out for Team Manitoba.

Team Manitoba qualifies, through being a member body of the Nationals Darts Federation of Canada, to play at the Youth Canadian National Darts Championships, which this year will be held from May 17 to 22, 2023 in Saint Hyacinthe, Quebec. Youth from every Province gather to compete for individual and team National Champions, to represent Canada at international events and for bursaries.

I can be contacted directly should you require any further information or have any questions. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from our future representers and supporters of Youth Team Manitoba.
